Juilliard String Quartet

Musco Center Presents

Juilliard String Quartet
Beethoven and More on the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven's Birth

Saturday, May 2, 2020 | 7:30 p.m.

Due to the escalating issues relating to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), effective immediately, Chapman University has cancelled all large public assembly events for the next eight-weeks, beginning March 11, 2020.

If you have tickets/reservations to this event, there is no action required from you unless you would like to change your purchase amount to a donation. To donate the value of your tickets, please contact Ticketing Services before March 20 at 714-997-6812 or via email at ticketing@chapman.edu. After March 20, any remaining ticket/reservation purchases will be automatically refunded to the original payment method. If that payment method is no longer valid, a refund check will be mailed to the address on file. Because of the large quantity of cancelled events, your refund may take several weeks to process.

The peerless Juilliard String Quartet returns to Musco Center for a second consecutive year, offering a public performance as well as a master class for Chapman student string musicians. Since its founding in 1946, the mighty JSQ has conquered the planet with performances charged with passionate energy and elegance. “The most important American quartet in history” (The Boston Globe) showcases an inimitable ensemble sensibility, playing “magically, like a single four-voiced instrument” (Broad Street Review).

Beethoven – Quartet No. 1 in F major, Op. 18, No. 1
Kurtág – 6 Moments Musicaux Op. 44 or Dutilleux: "Ainsi la Nuit"
Beethoven – Quartet No. 14 in C minor, Op. 131

Artists and program subject to change.

“Decisive and uncompromising... Juilliard’s confidently thoughtful approach, rhythmic acuity and ensemble precision were on full display.”

– Washington Post
