Join award-winning musician, song composer and actor Native American blues guitarist Tracy Lee Nelson for a discussion the intersection of Native American issues and blues roots and legacies followed by a live from home performance.

Tracy Lee Nelson is former Tribal Chairman of the La Jolla Indian Reservation who has released nine blues albums with two more to be released at the end of 2021. He was the winner of Best Blues Recording at the Native American Music Awards 2018 and nominated for Best Blues CD, Best New Artist, and Artist of the Year at the 2017 Indigenous Music Awards. He was also nominated for Best Country song at the 2019 Josie Music Awards. Nelson emerged from the San Diego and Los Angeles area music scenes in 1985 with a ground-breaking new perspective of the blues.  He has traveled across the nation with a ground-breaking and hard-hitting perspective on reservation life. His unique voice, original lyrics and guitar work comes straight from the heart, writing and singing stories of issues that should have been spoken of long ago.  Nelson was a member of Redbone (“Come and Get your Love”) and has played with an opened for artist such as Rita Coolidge, the Four Tops, Alvin Youngblood Hart, John Trudell, Indigenous, Jewel Akens, and more.
