Keb' Mo'
THIS EVENT IS IN THE PAST
Sunday, April 10, 2022 | 2:00 p.m. | Gates - 1 p.m. | Openers - 2 p.m. | Headliner - 4:30 p.m.
American blues legend and five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, guitarist, and songwriter Keb’ Mo,’ whose modern blues style is blended with hints of rock, jazz and country, headlines this year’s Mostly Blues Festival.
Keb’ began his music career playing with Jefferson Airplane violinist Papa John Creach.
Over the next few decades, he has established himself as a powerfully expressive guitarist, songwriter, and performer. He has also devoted himself to environmental and racial justice activism and is a longtime ambassador for the non-profit Playing For Change Foundation, which provides music education and basic needs to children around the world.
Joining him are two opening acts. One is Los Angeles-based folk-punk guitarist Sunny War. Sometimes drawing comparisons to legendary blues guitarist Robert Johnson, the poetic virtuoso is well-respected in the folk music scene for her expressive finger-picking style. The other is Jackie Venson, who the Austin American-Statesman describes as “a Gary Clark Jr.-level talent who speaks boldly through her guitar.”
Musco Center for the Arts’ annual Mostly Blues Festival is a blues-lover’s celebration of a foundational American art form that has influenced music around the world.
