Musco Center presents:
Blind Boys of Alabama
Wednesday, September, 09, 2026 | 7:30 p.m.
The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. Celebrated by the National Endowment for the Arts and The Recording Academy/GRAMMYs with Lifetime Achievement Awards and inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, they have attained the highest levels of achievement in a career spanning over 70 years. Along the way, they have also earned six GRAMMY® Awards, including most recently in 2024.
The Blind Boys are known for crossing multiple musical boundaries with their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material by songwriters such as Eric Clapton, Prince, and Tom Waits. Over the course of their career, they have appeared on recordings with artists including Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Bonnie Raitt, and Willie Nelson. Their latest album, Echoes of the South, recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, earned three GRAMMY® nominations and won for Best Roots Gospel Album. In March 2024, the group released Spirit of the Century, an insider history of America's longest-running group written with band members and key musical colleagues. That same year, the Americana Music Association honored the Blind Boys with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 23rd Annual Americana Honors & Awards show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. After more than seven decades, the Blind Boys show no signs of slowing down.
Runtime: Approximately 75 minutes, there will be no intermission.
